Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable simplification of tool exchange aparatus and shortening of tool exchange time, in a mechanism wherein preparatory plan for a work is made only once on the bench, processing of the top surface and the four sides of the work is performed, and at the same time, tool exchanging is made by utilizing the rotation of the spindle-head.
CONSTITUTION: The machine provides head 1, column 2, main shaft head 3 and spindle head 4, while the spindle head 4 is made feasible of spotting for four positions in i.e. lower, sides and upper directions. In this constitution, indexing and making preparation plan for a work at the bench 5 are completed by only one procedure, and processing is performed on the top surface and the four sides of the work enabling great curtailment in the time necessitated for preparatory plan. In addition, the spindle 4 itself acts as a tool exchanging arm, an independent exchanging arm is dispensed with, enabling single tool exchanging with low cost, and the structure of magazine 8 is simplified because in that mechanism, tools are placed in its upper portion and shank at its lower protion, and the insertion is made by placing horizontally into the pot 10 at flange part, which simplifies the structure of the magazine 8.
