Abstract

Apparatus for the magazine storage of rod- and shaft-shaped components e.g. taps (50) for a machine-tool comprises a circular magazine in the form of a circular disc (10) having a plurality of openings (11, 12) close to the periphery of the disc and in which openings detent means are located; the openings of said circular disc (10) have shaped apertures by inserts or shoulders (14) so that the components are orientated correctly when supplied to a machining position. The shapes may be square to suit the drive ends of the taps or as shown to locate the thread cutting ends thereof. The magazine is associated with a stepping drive optionally using pins in the disc, and a component gripper comprising shaped jaws. <IMAGE>
