Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a picture of the even brightness on the TV monitor by providing an optical filter in front of the TV camera in the inspecting device composed by attaching the TV camera to the fiber scope.
CONSTITUTION: An illuminator is attached to the tip of the fiber scope, and thus the range of inspection is limited to the range of illumination. In general, the center of the illuminated area has a higher brightness than the circumference area as shown in the figure like a hanging bell. When monitoring via the TV camera, the range of decision is limited up to the contrast ratio of about 16:1. Accordingly, the range of inspection is decreased greatly if the area of the highest brightness is set as the standard. In this connection, an optical filter featuring a higher transmission factor at the circumference area than the center part is installed in front of the TV camera. As a result, the contrast of the incident light is compressed to increase the range of inspection.
