Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to effect X-ray inspections for a sealed portion and plan to improve a reliability for a vessel by providing one flange of the pressure vessel with an I-shaped ring while the other flange with a J-shaped ring and forming a seal portion for both flanges by welding both said rings.
CONSTITUTION: A flange bolt 11 is attached by providing a clearance 33 at an outer peripheral side of a contact surface 14 between a flange 9 for an upper cylinder and a flange 10 for a lower cylinder of a pressure vessel. A ring portion 18 having an I-shaped cross-section is provided at the lower portion of the flange 9 while a ring portion 19 having a J-shaped cross-section is provided at an outer end of a horizontal portion 34 extending radially from the outer peripheral upper end of the portion forming the contact surface 14 so as to oppose the ring 18. Next, respective projected opposing portions of rings 18, 19 are welded and thereby a sealing portion having an U-shaped cross-section is formed. Following the welding, welded portion 20 may be inspected by contacting an X-ray film closely with the inner peripheral portion of the ring 19 and setting an X-ray generator at the outside of the ring 18.
