Abstract

PURPOSE:For preventing the fall of print quality due to that of voltage, to compensate by means of a power supply start position detector the voltge to be applied on the dots divided in other groups than two. CONSTITUTION:A position detector 13 consists of a permanent magnet fastened on a motor shaft and a coil fastened close to said permanent magnet on printer body, and detects position in terms of the variation of the magnetic flux of a motor 11 circuit. The counters 16 and 17 corresponding to dot groups start counting in accordance with the signal of said position detector 13 and stops after countion a fixed quantity of pulses. A circuit 20 opens in accordance with the output signal of said counters 16 and 17 since the pulse width of said output signal is inversely proportionate to the square of the voltage applied on said dots. Therefore, the variation of dot impression voltage can be compensated by that of pulse width if any so that dry battery driven serial thermal printers can be manufactured at a low cost.
