PURPOSE:To arrange so that stabilized printing quality against power supply and voltage fluctuations may be obtained by determining ''turn-on'' time for thermal printer's heating element with the assistance of pulse generating circuit which changes period or pulse width under the effect of voltage. CONSTITUTION:Counter 10 counts pulses output form pulse generating corcuit 8 by predetemined number, opening gate 13 at signal output by position detector 11 indicating the print position of heating elements 9. Pulse generating circuit 8 charges period or pulse amplitude unber the effect of voltage and the output of counter 10 assumes proportions of the time width to the voltage of power supply 7. Consequently, the output of character generator 12 is transformed into a pulse width corresponding to voltage V3 of power supply, controlling power supply transistors 14.
