Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct an accurate molding even to the fine section of a form by molding with the specified temperature and pressure a biaxially oriented polyester sheet with a surface orientation index of 0.15W0.18.
CONSTITUTION: Linear polyesters including at least 80mol% of ethylene terephthalate or a biaxially oriented polyester sheet including them with thickness of 70W 500μ and a surface orientation index of 0.15W0.18 are used with teflon coating as requested. Since the polyester sheet it rather less heat-conductive, it is advisable to use an outer heating method by a hot wind. A molding temperature is set at 220W 245°C because of the homogeneity of the modling and the fusion onto a hot plate and it is necessary that a molding pressure is set within a specified range depending the molding temperature in order to ensure a good reproducibility of corners and fine details. Molded products obtained thus are suitable for containers requiring heat resistance.
