Abstract

PURPOSE: After melt extruded and cooled under specific conditions, a specific starting material of resin is oriented simultaneously in biaxial directions to form polypropylene films with excellent electrical insulation and slippage properties and further high dimesnional atability at high temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: An isotactic polypropylene of 1.75-1.95 intrinsic viscosity (measured in tetraline at 135°C) and 97% or more isotactic index (expressed by the remaining amount after extraction with boiling n-heptane) is extruded into sheets and cooled rapidly to 50-80°C. Then the resulting sheet is further cooled to a temperature below 40°C and oriented simultaneously in the biaxial directions to form polypropylene film with 5 or more uneveness of 0.1-1 micron height per 1 mm2 area of the surface
