Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the subject method comprising the steps of detecting the welding joint position of a work by a detector, and correcting the position of a welding gun by the signal of the detector thereby enabling constantly best welding.
CONSTITUTION: A work 1 is clamped on a work table 5, and is accommodated in a reduced pressure chamber. The work table 5, joint position detector 3 and welding gas 4 are moved in accordance with the program by a triaxial control system numerical control device. The reference radiation position of the detector 3 and the reference radiation position of electron beams emitted from the welding gun 4 are arranged to follow the position of the joint 2. The difference between the program of the position of joint 2 and the actual position or deformation is detected by the detector 3. A position deviation signal corrects the radiation position of the welding gun to carry out welding. For correcting the electron beam irradiation position, there is a method of moving the welding gun or only electron beams.
