Abstract
PURPOSE: To accomplish effective press dehydration of night soil through solid/ liquid separation thereof at a multi-plate filter section with the movement of the night soil onto a horizontal screw by a rotating blade at the bottom ofter it is loaded into a vertical cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: Night soil is loaded into a vertical cylinder 2 and fed toward a material guide plate 16 from outside a screw conveyor 10' with a rotary blade 10' at the bottom. With the screw conveyor 10' extending outside a cylinder 2, the night soil moves in the direction b along the guide plate 16, and is fed under pressure to a multi-plate filter section 6 from a horizontal small cylinder 3 outside the cylinder 2. At the filter section 6, the liquid of the night soil is press-drained through an intermediate portion of a hollow fixed plate 4 and a hollow reciprocating slide plate 5. The remaining solid is pressed into a horizontal small cylinder 7 or a conical cylinder 8 located outside. Then, with the lid 9 pressed against a weight 45, it is discharged as a dewatered solid from between the open end of the cylinder 7 or a conical cylinder 8 and the lid.
