PURPOSE:To fully maintain the luminous output of a fluorescent screen over a long period of time by forming the fluorescent coating layer into a specific number of fluorescent layers. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent layer 2 coated on a substrate 1 consists of a primary coat 3 and a surface coat 4 applied on the primary coat 3. The primary coat 3 is applie by using as a binding medium a substance containing at least water-soluble silicate or colloidal silica. In the surface coat 4, the binding medium is contained in a green concentration of not higher than 0.5wt%.
