Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure a safe operation at the time of travelling and regeneration brake by controlling a shunt field current at the larger value than the optimum value of both units by shunt field current regulators wherein the above control is performed when motor armatures and series field systems of two units in the composition are connected in series.
CONSTITUTION: Arithmetic circuits 10E, 20E in shunt field current regulators 10, 20 are compared with the setting voltage of 1/2E0 and the outputs in motor voltage detectors, 19, 29 when the first and second units in an electric motor vehicle composition are connected in series and a regulating signal of the field current is outputted. An arithmetic circuit 10F inputs the outputs of armature current detector and shunt field current detector 17, 18 and the output is adjusted according to the necessity of the intensification and reduction of the shunt field current. And, in an arithmetic circuit 10G, the optimum value a5 in the unit itself is outputted in response to smaller outputs from 10E, 10F. An arithmetic circuit 20G also outputs the optimum value a6 as well. In this way, arithmetic circuits 10H, 20H output bigger values of the optimum value of each unit. Accordingly a safe operation at the time of travelling and regeneration brake will be secured by controlling the shunt field current.
