Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten defrosting time, by electrically coupling an automatic controller for the temperature of a room, an automatic forst detector for an outdoor heat exchanger and an inverter for controlling the rotational frequency of a compressor, to one another.
CONSTITUTION: When frost adheres to an outdoor heat exchanger, one contact 6a of an automatic frost detector is opened and a coolant circuit is returned into a cooling cycle to start defrosting. At that time, the other contact 6b of the automatic frost detector coupled electrically to an inverter 13 is also actuated. As a result, the inverter increases the rotational frequency of a compressor motor 11 above a level instructed by an automatic temperature controller 8 to heighten cooling capacity to shorten defrosting time.
