Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce concentration of stress, by forming grooves between plates constituting side walls of the nozzle and welded plates located on the side of an outer ring and an inner ring, in the manner that they are respectively extended in parallel with and perpendicularly to said plates, and thereby preventing influence of welding heat possible exerted to the hardened and coated portion of the nozzle blade surface.
CONSTITUTION: The nozzle blade unit 11 comprises the nozzle blade 12 whose surface is hardened by way of coating at its trailing edge portion of steam passage, the plates 13 constituting the side walls, the welded plates 14 located on the side of the inner ring and the outer ring, and the grooves 15, 16 formed between these two plates 13, 14 respectively in parallel with and perpendicularly to them. When a multiplicity of such nozzle blade units 11 arranged side by side are welded 18 into a semicircular form, influence of heat to the surface-hardened portion of the nozzle blades 12 is reduced greatly by the function of spaces 19 formed by the grooves 15. Further, when the nozzle units 11 thus arranged in the semicircular form are placed at a welding groove portion 20a and fixed to a nozzle steam chamber 20 by welding a structural welding member 21, the grooves 16 serve to prevent occurrence of cracks in the surface-hardened portion of the nozzle blades 12 due to residual stress at the welded portions. Thus, it is enabled to minimize or eliminate undesirable influence by welding that is exerted to the hardened and coated portion of the nozzle blade surface.
