Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a fixing enzyme film for enzyme electrode which has a film surface consisting of high polymer materials of a selective transmission property and a film layer of enzyme containing chitosan as the film surface opposite to the electrode and the film layer brought into contact with a measured material respectively to quantify contained minute-quantity components of body fluid, food, and so on with a high precision.
CONSTITUTION: In case that minute-quantity components such as glucose, urea, and cholesterol contained in body fluid, food, and so on are quantified by the enzyme electrode method, a film surface consisting of high polymer materials which permits materials such as oxygen, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, carbonic acid gas and hydrogen gas, which are generated or consumped in enzyme reaction and can be detected electrochemically, to pass through selectively is used as the film surface opposite to the electrode of a used fixing enzyme film. For example, polyethylene, polypropylene, and so on are desirable as the carbonic acid gas or enzyme is fixed is used as the film layer brought into contact with the measured material, thus obtaining the fixing enzyme film for enzyme electrode.
