Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise resistance to liquid leakage by interposing a sealant composed of unvulcanized rubber and process oil between cell container and gasket. CONSTITUTION:A sealant prepared by adding 30 to 60 wt%, preferably 40 to 50 wt%, process oil as a softening agent to an unvulcanized rubber, e.g., natural rubber and synthetic rubber such as polybutadiene copolymer, etc., preferably a A-B-A-type 3-block copolymer such as polystyrene-polybutadiene-polstyrene copolymer, is interposed in apertures among cell container, metal sealing plate, current collecing bar, and gasket, whereby resistance to liquid leakage can be raised and fraction defective can be greatly suppressed.
