Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of strain by thermal-expansion differences in a rotation-transmission device by providing a shaft fixed fast on a base-plate on one end and a sleeve connected to this shaft to be rotatable via a fluid lubrication bearing, and constructing the shaft of two members different in their thermal expansion coefficients.
CONSTITUTION: To be applied to a cylinder mechanism of a VTR unit, this device is provided with an upper cylinder 1 equipped with a head 2 and a lower cylinder 3 fixed fast on a lower housing 4 as a base plate, while a rotary sleeve 7 as an upper housing is fixed fast to the upper cylinder 1 to be detachable.
