Abstract

An electric motor comprises a stator 1,2,3, a fixed housing 10, 11, and a rotor 5. The diameter of the rotor 5 is much greater than the axial length of the stator. The stator poles 7 are provided within the housing 10, 11. The motor shaft 4 may be coupled so as to drive a machine or may be constituted by a shaft of the machine. <IMAGE>
