Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform sure braking, by detecting the polarity of an AC voltage and by applying the charged voltage of a capacitor to an AC motor at the end of half cycle of an AC voltage at the same polarity as the charged voltage of the capacitor.
CONSTITUTION: For braking, a relay switch S is opened, a thyristor SCR1 is turned off, a thyristor SCR3 is turned on and the charged voltage of a capacitor C0 is applied to the coil of an AC motor. A positive half wave of an AC voltage is produced by a half-wave rectifier circuit 1. A prescribed positive voltage is detected by a level comparator 2. The detection output of the comparator and a run/stop control signal C for the motor are applied through an AND gate circuit G and a relay drive circuit D to control a relay L. Even if the signal C has a high level, the relay L is opened in a next positive half cycle by the low-level output of the level comoarator 2.
