Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the polarity of induction volrage and determine the detection of rotation by applying DC current to a stator winding and displaying the induction voltage generated in an auxiliary winding on a galvanometer.
CONSTITUTION: Current is fed to the main winding W1 of an induction motor 3 from a DC power circuit 2 through a switching means 5 and a galvanometer 4 is connected to an auxiliary winding W3 through a polarity selecting changeover switch 6. Contacts (a) and (b) are closed and DC current is applied to the main winding W1 for a certain time. After a contact closes, a contact (c) closes and polarity power which is inverse to the residual magntic polarity is applied. The galvanometer 4 is deflected by electromotive force induced in the auxiliary winding W3 and the polarity of a motor 3 is detected to determine the direction of rotation. As a result, the detection, determination, and processing by all electric circuit systems without requiring the axial rotation of the motor 3 are enabled and detection accuracy can be imoproved
