Abstract

PURPOSE:To narrow a gate striking signal of an inverter part by detecting the presence or absence of the current of the inverter and by overlapping a gate striking signal for comparator on the gate striking signal for the inverter when the detected current is zero. CONSTITUTION:The power from an AC power source 1 is converted into DC power by a converter 2 and impressed on the inverter 4 to drive an induction motor 5. Moreover, the presence or absence of the current flowing through the inverter 4 is detected by a current transformer 70 and a comparing circuit 72 and the output C1 thereof and the negative signal C0 thereof are delivered to a logic circuit 75, while the total sum of the gate signals of a group of thyristors of the converter 2 is taken by an OR circuit 73 and delivered to the circuit 75. And, the gate signal of the inverter 4 and the gate signal of the converter 2 are overlapped and thereby a gate signal is supplied to the inverter 4. Accordingly, the gate signal of the inverter 4 can be narrowed and thereby the device can be miniaturized and simplified.
