Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a generation of knocking in an engine by selecting a knocking signal of specific frequency from the output of acceleration sensor that detects a vibration of the engine and retarding the ignition timing and to adequately perform a detecting operation of the knocking, by providing a plurality of frequency filters. CONSTITUTION:An output of a revolution signal generator 9 synchronized with the rotational speed of an engine is input to a switching circuit 11 through a waveform shaper circuit 10 and phase shifter 8 to interrupt the feed of an electric current to an ignition coil 12 and generate an ignition voltage. An engine vibration caused during the operation of said engine is detected by an acceleration sensor 1, and its output, when a knocking action is generated, is input to a noise level detector 5 and comparator 6 after passing through a frequency filter group 2 and analog gate 3. An output of the comparator 6 is integrated by an integrator 7, in accordance with its result, to allow the phase shifter 8 to shift the phase of an output from the waveform shaper circuit 10 toward the side of retard timing and drive the switching circuit 11 by said retard phase timing.
