CONSTITUTION: The inner circumferential surfaces of the apertures 2, 3 of the upper and lower ends of the chromatography column 1 are tapered so that both apertures are made wider outwards, and threads 4, 5 are provided on both outer circumferential surfaces of the apertures. The inner cap 6 in which a valve 14 is rotatably installed is closely fitted in the aperture 2 so that it can freely be put in or removed from the aperture 2, and the outer cap 8 is put on it and screwed onto the thread 4. Also the inner cap 25 on which a filter 36 is placed is fitted in the aperture 3 so that it can freely be put in or removed from the aperture 3 and the outer cap 27 is put on it and screwed onto the thread 5. By this, the inner caps 6, 25 are pressed down and up by the outer caps 8, 27, the chromatography column 1 is completely closed, no liquid leaks when a high pressure is applied to the inside of the column 1. Also when coupling members 11, 30 are attached to the inner caps 6, 25, the outer and inner caps can be moved in line with each other to smooth the removal of them.
