Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a homogeneous nuclear substance by pouring a nuclear substance-contg. nitric acid soln. after treating used nuclear fuel into a rotatable container provided with a heater; heating the soln. with microwaves and the heater; and detecting a denitration end point with a light quantity detector.
CONSTITUTION: Nuclear substance-contg. nitric acid soln. 1 is poured from feed pipe 22 into flat-bottomed container 15 provided with heater 16 at the bottom. Soln. 1 is irradiated with microwaves from microwave oscillator 11 and heated from the bottom with heater 16, and container 15 is rotated with turn table 18. To prevent heat of heater 16 from radiating to the outside, container 15 is rendered double structure, and heat insulating material 17 is packed in container 15. Thus, soln. 1 is uniformly heated, and by detecting a denitration end point with light quantity detector 21 the heating is stopped to form a homogeneous nuclear substance.
