Abstract

PURPOSE: To save a housing space by a method wherein a concentrated slurry is heat molter and solidified to reduce the volume thereof by irradiating microwave to dry the said slurry to a prescribed water content ratio and adjusted to a prescribed particle diameter.
CONSTITUTION: A slurry A is sent to a pretreating tank 1 through an introducing pipe L1 to separate impurities. Subsequently, the said slurry is neutralized by a reagent supplied from a solution tank 13 and sent to an evaporating can 2 by a pump P and evaporated as well as concentrated by heating by steam S1. Thereafter, the concentrated slurry is heated by steam S2 to evaporate moisture and dry and the obtained particulate material with moisture of 5W10wt% and particle size of 0.01W 0.2mm is exhausted to a weighing hopper 7. Subsequently, the said particulate material is sent to an irradiating furnace 5 through a powder supply machine 8 by an appropriate transfer means L2. Thereafter, the microwave is irradiate to the particulate material from a top portion of the same furnace 5 through a wave guide tube L4 from a microwave generator 4. Then, the said particulate material generates heat to raise the temp. thereof and is melted and thereafter, exhausted to a cooler from a furnace bottom and, after solidified, received in a hopper 12. This solidified material is filled in a closing container and housed and preserved.
