Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the difference of optical outputs between the center part and the peripheral part and improve image contrast by using the phase plate on which thin membrane is formed by evaporation so that light transmissivity increases gradually from the center part to the peripheral part. CONSTITUTION:As for the phase plate of a glass panel which has evaporated thin membrane on the inner surface, the light transmissivity at the center part is set for example at 60%, and it increases gradually toward the peripheral part, and is set for example at 85% at the peripheral part. The opening rate of the black light absorbing layer and the luminescent layer which have openings are set so as to be smaller from the center part of the phase plate to the peripheral part. Accordingly, the light transmissivity at the center part becomes pretty smaller, and image contrast can be improved sharply, and a colour image receiving tube having high quality can be obtained.
