Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance resistance to abrasion, weather, and humidity, and to obtain a stable sharp image, by adding a specified fluorinated benzoic acid derivative to the transparent protective layer of an electrophotographic receptor prepared by laminating a photoconductive layer and the transparent protective layer in succession on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorinated compound (perfluorobenzoic acid, this ester, this salt, or the like) represented by the formula (R is H, 1W4C alkyl, benzoyl, benzoyl, acetyl, allyl, phenyl, Na, K, Mg, Ca, or Mn, and n is 1W5) alone or a mixture of 2 or more kinds of it are used. The amount used of the compound is 0.1W50wt%, preferably 0.5W20wt% based on the total weight of the protective layer. The protective layer is formed by dissolving this fluorinated compound together with an acrylic resin, polyester resin, or the like in a solvent such as dichloroethane and coating and drying this solution on a photoconductive layer. The photoreceptor thus obtained can form a sharp copy image even under a dry atmosphere or high humidity atmospheres.
