Abstract

PURPOSE: Antistatic fiber that is made by bonding an electrically conductive metal or its compound to the surface of a modified polyester fiber containing sulfonate metal salt and is used by mixing with general fiber for clothing, thus and showing high safety and stable, good antistatic effects.
CONSTITUTION: An electrically conductive metal such as aluminum or metal compound such as indium oxide is bonded to the surface of a modified polyester fiber containing, preferably 1W20mol% of the structural unit bearing sulfonate metal salt as a side chain such as 5-sulfoisophthalic acid by metallization or sputtering to produce the objective fiber.
EFFECT: The electrically conductive film resists bending, twisting and friction to cause no peeling and stripping of the coating film.
