Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the overheat of an engine and save fuel consumption by detecting the engine load through an intake pipe negative pressure detector and rotational frequency detector for the engine, stopping the operation of a compressor by the load and operating an electromagnetic flow controlling valve to reduce the load on the compressor. CONSTITUTION:When high load requirement is detected by an intake pipe negative pressure detector 9, a contact 9a is closed to operate a relay circuit 10. Thus, current from a power supply 11 to an electromagnetic clutch 2 for a compressor 1 is interrupted to stop the compressor 1. Also, when high speed requirement is detected by a rotational frequency detector 12 for an engine, a contact 12a is closed, current is supplied to an electromagnetic flow controlling valve 13 provided in the intake pipe path interconnecting an evaporator 8 and compressor 1 to close the valve up to the set opening and reduce the amount of refrigerant sucked in the compressor 1. Thus, the work of the compressor and the engine load are reduced under the high load and speed requirements for the engine to prevent overheat, the fuel consumption is saved and the accelerating ability is improved.
