Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the perfect and effective reaction of limestone by packing limestone grains in the funnel type reaction vessel provided with plural overflow pipes in the cylindrical part and nets in the intermediate part on the inner side of the funnel part, respectively, flowing acidic water from the bottom of the vessel and so arranging this that the fine limestone grains react in the fluidized state.
CONSTITUTION: The limestone grains 2 having been removed of powdered limestone of about 1mmϕ or less are packed in a funnel-type reaction vessel 1 and the acidic liquid to be treated in a storage tank 4 is continuously charged by a pump 5 through the influent port 6 in the lower part of the vessel. At this time, the acidic liquid which does not contain a large amount of ions and salts forming insoluble precipitate at the reacting with the limestone is used and arrangement is so made that its ascending speed becomes 20cm/min or more in the portion 8 on the lower side or the net 7 which induces fluidized state in the lower part of the vessel and becomes 9cm/min or less in the upper part of the vessel. Further, the height (x) from the influent port 6 up to the net 7 is made 1/10W1/5 the height (y) of the vessel. By changing the reacting liquid takeout from overflow pipes 9, 10, 11, the pH of the treating solution is selected freely.
