Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase iron removal rate and to reduce the radiation dose of a plant by containing ion exchange resins consisting of granular anion resins and granular cation resins smaller than the average grain sizes of the former thereby constituting a condensate desalting device.
CONSTITUTION: A water spraying plate 14, ion exchange resins 15 provided on a meshed plate 16 and a Johnson screen 17 are contained in a vessel 13 connected to a water feed system 18 and a condensate system 19, whereby a condensate desalting device 7 is constituted. The average grain sizes of the granular cation resins constituting the resins 15 are required to be made smaller than the average grain sizes of the anion resins. The condensate contg. clads flows down through the system 19 onto the plate 14 in the vessel 13 and is sprayed onto the resins 15, by which it is desalted and filtered. After this, it flows through the screen 17 out into the system 18.
