PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyzer for exhaust gas treatment with increased strength of the catalyzing part colliding against abundant dust and reduced consumption, by dipping the side or end part of gas inlet side of porous denitrating catalyzer containing Ti in silica sol and treating, and dispersing to carry SiO2 uniformly in the catalyzer inside. CONSTITUTION:A catalyzer for integral forming porous fixing is prepared by mixing Ti oxide 30-99wt%, one or more kinds of V, W, Mo, etc. 1-70wt%, and one or more kinds of oxides of Sn, Zn, and alkali (earth) metal 0-50wt%. The said portion of this porous denitrating catalyzer containing Ti is dipped in a colloidal solution (silica sol) having fine particles of SiO2 dispersed in water. Thus, without forming a paint film on the outer surface of the catalyzer, silica sol is uniformly penetrated into the inside of the catalyzer. Then, by drying or further baking, the intended fortified catalyzer for exhaust gas treatment is obtained. This catalyzer, using a reducing agent such as NH3, is used as a fixed bed catalyzer applied to reduce NOX in the exhaust gas into a harmless N2.
