Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve analysis of trace component proportional to the level of the luminance quickly with a better sensitivity by introducing luminance from the mixture of the test substance and a reagent in a black box to a photoelectric multiplier through optical fiber and the electric output of the multiplier is counted. CONSTITUTION:The test substance and the reagent which causes luminance when added thereto are put and mixed in a vial 14 outside the black box 10 and simultaneously the switch 34 is turned on. Both the test substance and the reagent starts reaction to produce luminance. The vial is inserted into a container 12 immediately and the first optical shutter 18 is closed while the second shutter 27 is opened. Introduced through optical fiber 24, the luminance in the vial 14 enters a light detecting surface 26a of the photoelectric multiplier 26, which provides the electric output proportional to the level of luminance. As the output is counted by an amplification counting circuit 28 and the counting time is controlled as specified by the timer of a time setting circuit 32, counting is performed only for the specified reaction time after a given time elapses from the start of the luminance. The discrete value of the circuit is digitally indicated on the display for analysis and indication of the trace component in the test substance corresponding to the level of the luminance.
