PURPOSE:To make it possible to reproduce visually-natural color reproduced pictures by correcting hues continuous to a hue high in visual sensitivity into those drawn toward the hue high in visual sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:In hue corresponding circuit block 2, chrominance carriers in phase needed for I-axial and Q-axial color demodulation are supplied from phase shifters 17 and 18 to I-axial demodulator 19 and Q-axial demodulator 20, which provide I-axial demodulation and Q-axial demodulation to extract them. The output of demodulator 19 is supplied to clipping circuit 21, which extracts only a signal of positive polarity. The output of circuit 21 is supplied to multiplier 22 and then multiplied there by the demodulation output of demodulator 20 and the output of multiplication is supplied via terminal 16 to DC taint circuit 5 to vary the phase of the chrominance subcarrier of circuit 5 according to the phase of an input chrominance signal. As a result, a phase correction is made to obtain a phase closer to the I axis besides a chrominance signal at a position near the I axia with the highest visual sensitivity.
