Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a pneumatic tire of which a cord is prevented from being exposed even with a reduced amount of rubber of the tire by interiorly lining an innermost ply of a carcass of the tire with a cord barrier rubber which contains as a principal component a polybutadiene of a predetermined microcrystalline structure or a blender rubber containing a predetermined amount of the polybutadiene therein.
CONSTITUTION: A cord barrier rubber contains as a principal component a polymer formed by block or graft polymerization of cis-1,4-polybutadiene and syn-1,2-polybutadiene or a blended rubber which contains 20wt% or more of the polymer and the remaining of a diene-type rubber such as natural rubber and so on. The polymer contains 6W20wt% of a microcrystalline syn-1,2-structure, and 40wt% or more thereof is crystalline. The polymer is further in short filaments having the average diameter of 0.05W1μm and the average length of 0.8W10μm. A thin layer 5 of the barrier rubber of such composition is lined on a carcass innermost ply 4, whereby a cord is prevented from being exposed outside without the necessity of a thick interior rubber or a special ply of a short life.
