Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve a magnetic charateristics and a mechanical characteristics by impregnating a liquid-like plastic after temporarily burning an intermet lic compound powder including mainly Y, La, or rare earth element and a transient element.
CONSTITUTION: A powder of intermetalic compound RM mainly including one or more kind of Y, La, or rare earth class element and one or more kind of transient elements M is temperarily burnt at 400 to 900°C. Successively, the powder is impregnated and immersed in a liquid-like epoxy resin solution under a vaccum or a pressing condition. Where any sintering reaction is not almost caused less than the temperature of 400°C, because the sintering may be excessive at a temperature over 900°C and the impregnation space is too small, the srength can not be improved substantially. As a result, the magnetic and mechanical characteristics are considerably improved.
