Abstract
PURPOSE: To form stable hydrogenation through adjustment of equilibrium pressure and increased reaction rate by compounding specific composition ratio of V, Ni, Mn and controlling the amount of Mn replacing Ni.
CONSTITUTION: Composition of hydrogen storage metallic material is specified to V3Ni1-xMnx(0.01≤x≤0.8). This metallic material is compounded by specified composition of V, Ni and Mn, is melted by arc in Ar atmosphere, crushed, contained in sealed autoclave and loaded with hydrogen. The metallic material shows a body-centered cubic structure. In hydrogenation, when the amount of hydrogen stored increases, the metallic material changes into a body-centered tetragonal structure. When dehydrated, the structure is returned to the original body-centered cubic structure.
