Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the coercive force and to attain the stabilization of magnetic property of a permanent magnet alloy by adding a small amount of Ca, Mg compositely to R (Y and one or more of rare earth element)-Co-Cu-Fe type alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet material comprises R (Y and one or more of rare earth element such as Sm); 20W35%, Cu; 5W15%, Fe; 3W20%, Ca and Mg alone or both of them; ≤1.0% and the remainder substantially comprising Co and, according to necessity, part of Co is substituted by one or more of Si, Mn, Al, Cr, V, Ti, Nb, Zr in an amount of 3% or less. In this alloy composition, by adding Ca, Mg or the like, the magnetic property such as 1HC, (BH)max is enhanced and can be designed in a thin form.
