Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover the heat of a converter exhaust gas by a method wherein a high temp. exhaust gas of the converter is cooled to form a high temp. water and the heat of this high temp water is recovered in a heat exchanger as well as a low b.p. medium is evaporated by part of the said high temp. water to generate electricity by a low b.p. medium vapour turbine. CONSTITUTION:The high temp. exhaust gas issued from the converter M is passed through a cooler 2 to absorb the heat thereof and the formed high temp. and high pressure water is introduced into a high pressure tank 4 of a cooling water circuit 1. Subsequently, the said high temp. water is entered into a heat exchanger 6 to recover the heat thereof and the cooled high temp. water is circulated and used again to cool the exhaust gas of a converter M. In front of a heat exchanger 6 of a cooling water circuit 1, a bypass passage 10 is provided and part of the said high temp. water is introduced into a low b.p. medium evaporator 11 to evaporate a low b.p. medium intermittently corresponding to the operating condition of the converter. Thereby, the heat is accumulated in an accumulator 16 and the said heat is taken out therefrom as the uniform energy to drive a turbine 18 as well as rotate a power generator 24. Finally, the formed vapor is condensed in a condenser 21 and again sent to a low b.p. medium evaporator 11 by circulation.
