Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the temperature rise of a thermal head constant, to prevent thermal breakdown and to attain a uniform recording density, by storing recording information which is applied to the thermal head and by using the information to control the duty factor and voltage of a following driving pulse. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of an AND gate G2, which receives three signals that are a signal DATA, a signal CLOCK and the output of G1, is supplied to a thermal head so that the head heats. The signal DATA is dot information. The signal CLOCK is used to determine the timing and time width of a pulse which is applied to the head. A NAND gate G2 receives a signal CHOP and the output of a flip-flop F1 which latches the dot information at the time of the falling of the signal CLOCK. When the output DATA is kept at a level HIGH, the signal CHOP is supplied to T3 and the output of the gate G2 becomes a chopped signal to control power which is applied to the head.
