Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform bitbybit write processing of high precision completely corresponding to input pulse width by exercising control over the modulation of a laser beam by generating a pulse of width corresponding to a write signal pulse with only its leading part voltage higher. CONSTITUTION:Monostable multivibrator 12 is triggered by write pulse S1 to generate high-level pulse S2 of fixed width, which is mixed via line driver 14 and resistance R2 with pulse S1 having passed through delay circuit 11, line driver 13 and resistance R1 to generate a pulse provided with pulse S2 at its leading part when the pulse width of pulse S1 is wide or pulse S3 equivalent to pulse S2 when narrow, synchronizing with the rise of pulse S1. Laser beam nodulator 17 is controlled by pulses S3 to write data on an optical recording medium, and consequently even when the pulse width is wide, an influence of heat in writing is eliminated, so that bits corresponding to pulses S1 will be generated with high precision.
