Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect the sleeve from damage due to various impacts and extend its service life, by fabricating the sleeve main body for die casting machine from sintered metal, and fitting a reinforcing frame made of steel or the like to the outside thereof. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve main body (a1) for pouring molten meal to be used in a die casting machine is made from sintered metal excelling in high temperature wear resistance. A steel made reinforcing frame (a2) excelling in impact resistance is shrinkage-fitted to the outside of this sleeve main body (a1). The impact pressure due to a plunger 1a sliding on the interior of the sleeve main body (a1) for press- feeding the molten metal is absorbed by the steel make reinforcing frame (a2), and the impact due to ingot of metal for casting additionally charged into the melting furnace containing the sleeve and the impact to the sleeve due to slag removing tool are also lessened by the reinforcing frame (a2), so that the breakage of the sleeve main body (a1) is prevented. Yet, since the sleeve is made by sinteral alloy, it excels in heat resistance, wear resistance and durability.
