Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an engine from becoming undrivable when an abnormality in when a sucked air quantity measuring system happened, by using an abnormality detector to monitor the signal of the sucked air quantity measuring system and, when an abnormality is detected, by using a device for estimating the a sucked quantity of sucked air to control the quantity of fuel to be injected.
CONSTITUTION: An abnormality detector 1 is provided to detect the improper action of a sucked air measuring system 3. The detector monitors the output signal of the measuring unit to detect abnormality. The output of the abnormality detector 1 is supplied to an abnormality indicator 6 and a signal selector 8 in a sucked air quantity estimation unit 2. A signal selector 8 selects a signal QO directly supplied from the measuring unit 3 and a signal Q1 supplied from the sucked air quntity estimation circuit 7, depending on a judgement signal (a) supplied from the abnormality detector 3 and inputs QO or Q1 to the mixing ratio controller 4 of a control unit 10. The sucked air quantity estimation circuit 7 estimates the quantity of sucked air on the basis of a signal supplied from an engine running condition detector 13 such as throttle valve opening degree detector.
