Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to prevent the engine stall by a method wherein the interruption of fuel supply is nt conducted during when a negative pressure is higher than a set point, in a device for stopping the fuel supply when the revolution frequency is not lower than a set point while an accelerator pedal is released. CONSTITUTION:In the condition where an idle switch 3 is ON, the fuel cutoff control is carried out when the negative-pressure in an intake pipe detected by a sensor 14 is not higher than the set point. On the other hand, when the negative-pressure is higher than the set point, the fuel cutoff operation is not conducted. In this case, since the negative pressure is affected by variations in the atmospheric pressure, an altitude compensation is carried out. Accordingly, since the fuel cutoff operation is automatically stopped when the operation would tend to bring about an engine stall at the time of fuel recovery, as in warm-up operation or in the case of a bad engine condition, it is possible to prevent the engine stall from occurring.
