Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain many numbers of branching and addition with one circuit, by electromagnetically coupling the coaxial cable to the cylindrical cavity resonator. CONSTITUTION:The coaxial cable 7 of the input terminal 1 of the branch unit is fitted at the location having maximum strength of electric field of the cylindrical cavity resonator 6, and at the center of circular plane of the TM010 mode resnator, and the electric field is excited with the needle shape inner conductor 8, and phase difference of 90 deg. is given between the electric and magnetic fields so that the magnetic field is zero the moment when the electric field takes a miximum in the resonator, and the magnetic field is excited with a delay 90 deg. from the electric field. The cable 7 of the output terminals 2a, 2b,... of the distributor is fitted at the location where the magnetic field takes a maximum (about at the center of the cylindrical plane at TM010 mode) so that the loop surface of the inner conductor 8 is vertical to the magnetic field. Further, the load impedance at the output terminal is equally selected as the characteristic impedance of the cable. Thus, many numbers of distribution can be obtained from one circuit, and in case of the adder, since converse operation is made as the distributor, many numbers can be obtained similarly.
