Abstract
PURPOSE:To make high-density recording possible by an obtained magnetic head by shielding from an external magnetic field a reading/writing head core provided to the gap part of a slider of a ferromagnetic substance with a floating and sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:In this magnetic head, reading/writing head core 14 is insulated completely and electrically from slider 10 of a ferrormagnetic substance made of ferrite by glass 13, i.e., a non-magnetic substance and surface 11a of end part 11 and surface 12a of center part 12 are completely flattened by mirror-polishing. Therefore, gap 12b1 of groove 12b in which head core 14 is arranged provides the reading and writing of signals being away from a medium surface at the same distance as those of surfaces 11a and 12a. Since the outer circumference of core 14 is surrounded with ferromagnetic substance slider 10, an external magnetic field never exerts a bad influence on gap 12b1 and a leaking magnetic field in the operation space of core 14 seldom exerts a bad influence on the reading and writing of core 14, so that high-density recording will come into effect.
