Abstract

PURPOSE: To grind a work substantially uniformly by rotating the work at a speed not less than 50 times that of a grindstone of a specific diameter, whereby grain of the grindstone passes along the surface of the work substantially uniformly.
CONSTITUTION: A work 1 is rotated by a motor fixed to a work head 7, at a speed approximately not less than 50 times that of a grindstone 9. The grindstone 9 is fixed to a grinding head 10 and rotated by a motor. The grinding head 10 is set such that it its moved, for example, about 1mm per one revolution of the grindstone 9. The diameter of the grindstone 9 is not more than 3 times that of the work 1. Grain of the grindstone 9 is passed along the surface of the work 1 substantially uniformly. Accordingly, the work 1 can be ground uniformly.
