Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to measure a fine difference in pressure of a liquid between two different points, by measuring electrically and continuously a difference in liquid level caused by a difference in pressure inside a channel-shaped tube applied with pressure at two different points.
CONSTITUTION: Water in channel-shaped tube 1 is so sealed that when the pressure is balanced, the liquid level will be at position 14, and stoppers 4 and electrodes 31W34 held by spacers 5 are inserted into the channel-shaped tube. Then, electrodes 31W34 are applied with an AC voltage from transformer 11 and to the secondary side of the transformer, potentiometer 2 and AC voltmeter 13 are connected, constituting a bridge circuit. When a difference between pressures P1 and P2 applied to pressure-applied holes 7 and 8 of the channel-shaped tube causes difference H in liquid level, electrodes 31 and 32, and 33 and 34 differ in conductive resistance, and consequently the bridge circuit is unbalanced, so that AC voltemeter 13 will indicate a value in proportion to difference H in liquid level.
