Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform rational formation of the coil in manufacturing a cylindrical coil for motors, by selecting a circle having a radius r so that its center is located at the position where an angle theta is formed with bending lines; when determining the diameter, the length, and the number of layers governing the number of conductors and air gaps with respect to the cylinder to be formed. CONSTITUTION:When the bending is performed to form four equally divided portions in the circumferential direction of a ring-shaped disc coil 1 with an outer diameter of 2R, is selected a circle, wherein a radius is r and the extended portions of two perpendicular diameters form the angle theta=45 deg. with bending lines 2 and 3 (in general theta=360 deg./2n, where n is a number for equal division). In this case, the outer diameter 2R and the radius r are selected so that the diameter D of the cylindrical coil satisfies D=4r/pi, and the length L of the cylinder satisfies L=(2R<2>-r<2>)<1/2>. Thus, the outer diameter and the bending positions are determined, conductor portions 4 are formed as shown in the Figure, thereby the cylindrical coil is formed.
