Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a transmitted X-ray image of an interested portion of an item for use in diagnosis while simultaneously positioning an X-ray apparatus at a fixed location above the item being inspected, by providing said apparatus with a detector to find out said interested portion of said item, which has previously been positioned at the fixed location, and also with a display unit to show said transmitted X-ray image thereon. CONSTITUTION:A transmitted X-ray image of an item 4 under inspection is converted to a TV video signal by an image intersifier (I.I.) 5 and an X-ray video apparatus 6, and then displayed on a TV monitor 7. A positioning of an interest portion requiring a diagnosis is performed while observing said TV image. After the completion of the positioning, a detector 9 is caused to advance to a location above the interested portion and within a conical area defined by X-ray transmitted through the item being inspected. When an X-ray strikes on the detector 9, a fluorescence intensity distribution corresponding to the transmitted X-ray intensity distribution is obtained at a fluorescent part 9A. Then, the thus-obtained fluorescence is guided to a photoelectric surface 9C by an optical fiber 9B, and photoelectrons, which are generated at the photoelectric surface 9C corresponding to the fluorescence intensity, are converted to a light signal by a multi-channel plate 9D. Furthermore, the light signal is focused onto a CCD 9G, whose output is finally displayed on a display unit 10.
